NEW: The Stacks are Now Open
Rogers Free Library is pleased to announce that we have opened up access to our stacks for browsing, and have increased the maximum capacity per floor as of Monday 8/24 to 14 people per floor. Although meeting rooms, general seating and daily newspapers are still not available, we are slowly transitioning to a more open library. We are confident that with our observation of protocols and the cooperation of patrons we are providing a safe environment.
NEW: Public Computers & Copier are Now Available
Public computers and a limited seating for laptop users are available by appointment. Sessions are 30 minutes but can be extended on a case-by-case basis. Please call the library at 401-253-6948 to reserve a computer station.
The copier on the main floor is now open to the public.
Entering the Building
All patrons will enter through the front door on Hope Street. We will be counting how many people are coming in and leaving, as we still have limited building capacity requirements for occupancy. Our back door will remain closed during this phase. A greeter will be at the entrance to answer questions and inform you of our temporary new look and procedures. If you require back door entrance please call ahead to 401-253-6948 and we will try to accommodate your needs.
For the safety of all, we require that you wear face coverings while in the library and maintain a proper social distance from other patrons. If you are unable to wear a face covering we will make accommodations. Please ask the staff or read our signs for more information.
Call in times for the materials are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. and pick up times are 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. On Wednesday, call-in hours are 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and pick up times are 2:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Call us with the titles, and the staff will get them and call or email to arrange an appointment for pickup.
The easiest way to find materials is to search the online catalog and limit your search to items currently available at Bristol.
The state’s book delivery service (interlibrary loan) is not running at full capacity yet, so there will be a limit of 15 items you can put on hold from other libraries. Please note we have fewer delivery days and need to quarantine items for 72 hours before processing, so please expect a slightly longer wait for interlibrary loan materials.
Item Returns & Late Fees
You may return items at any time in the outside bookdrop. Please do not bring returns into the building. All returned items will be held in quarantine for at least 72 hours before being checked in. There will be no late fees at this time.
Technology Help is Still Available
Kristin is available for tech help from 9 a. m. to 4 p. m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and from 11 a. m. to 4 p. m. on Wednesday. She can answer questions about downloading eBooks, using Lynda.com or with general computer/mobile device questions. Please call her at 484-8545. You will be prompted to say your name and then you will be connected.
Programs Will Continue to be Brought to You Virtually
Our meeting rooms are still closed, therefore we will not have programming in the library. We are working on developing a schedule of unique virtual programming.
