Our teens had a special paint night with Jennifer Rolfsema!
Casey Farms brought RFL a very special gift – the gift of new life! Thanks to everyone at Casey Farms for allowing us to watch the hatching of chicks! Children were able to watch the eggs in the incubator and later hold the chicks in their hands.
Author Claire Messud read from her book & answered questions from the large audience in attendance. This event was made possible by the collaboration of Rogers Williams University & the Friends of the Rogers Free Library.

We were joined by the author & illustrator of Angela Ruggiero!Angela, an art teacher, will read her book “The Christmas Santa Wore Blue Jeans” & signed copies of her book. Patrons joined Cheryl & the library staff for a “Dinner & a Book Chat” to celebrate the great amount of reading we did this Summer for the Summer Reading Contest! Contestants enjoyed food from local restaurants and received loads of prizes, including one grand prize of a Kindle Fire HD! Congratulations Susan A! We hope you like your Kindle!
On Tuesdays in May & June 2014 our patrons joined the staff of Bristol Total Fitness for some fun & challenging Yoga & Pilates classes! Thanks to Bristol Total Fitness for lending us their great instructors for these classes! We had a blast and are feeling fantastic!
On April 22nd the Herreshoff Community Room was the setting for a very special presentation by Roger Williams University student Shayna Moran. Her presentation “Patriarchal Camera Angles: Pride & Prejudice at the Movies” was enjoyed by a group of Jane Austen fans! Thanks Shayna!
November 6th author Bianca Turetsky joined us for a lovely talk about her books.

October 4 we celebrated our 5 year anniversary (in the new facility) with a moving performance by William & Leta cain. The couple’s performance brought down the house. We are so grateful they could share this performance with us on our anniversary.
